Who We Are
Owner and general manager Allison Thacker is an Athens, GA, transplant, and chef and owner Alex Curtis is an Ann Arbor native. We make Seafood Driven happen, and even though we’re new to this, we’re not new to kitchens or the restaurant biz. Between the two of us, we have over 20 years of kitchen experience and plenty of downtime (read: playtime) to master fancy knife skills, flavor profiling techniques, and dish staging. (Your lobster rolls aren’t just naturally photogenic, you know.)
What We Do
Seafood Driven began as an idea tossed around at family gatherings, and Alex eventually wandered down south to Athens to try to open a food cart. Athens regulations are strict about mobile food laws, so the cart couldn’t work there – but local and states laws here in Ann Arbor are much friendlier. This allows us to explore through catering, retail, as well as daily sales out of the cart, because the ultimate goal is a brick and mortar restaurant (seafood of course, but with a raw bar and a liquor license).
Where We Are
Food Truck Season has come to a close in beautiful Michigan, and we enjoyed our season-finisher at The Little Fleet in downtown Traverse City. Our first food cart season was so successful, we’ve decided to launch a retail line of our soups during the off-season. Our Clam Chowder will premiere on the online store with a target launch date in January, and we’re currently shopping around for awesome Michigan-focused markets to share the soup love. As for next season, we’re looking into other great locations all over the state, but we’re not sure where we’ll end up. As for events and location updates, feel free to check out our current location feed.
